Move In

Before you arrive

  • Check your email to ensure you don’t miss any important move in details.
  • Review what you can and cannot bring. Only pack the essentials as storage in residence is very limited.
  • Do not send parcels or luggage prior to your arrival as storage or security for these items cannot be guaranteed. Items that arrive before you move in will be returned to the sender.

Park your vehicle

  • View the map for free parking locations on North Campus and Résidence Saint-Jean during Move In Day.
  • Parking will be complimentary on your move-in day. You will be issued a complimentary parking code when you pick up your keys (up until January 15, 2024). This will be a single use code valid only on the day you move in and will be monitored by Parking Services. Additional usage of the parking code will result in a $100 parking citation per instance.
  • Do not park on the grass or in “no parking” areas.
  • Ensure someone is in the vehicle at all times if you are temporarily parked in an emergency access lane so they can move the vehicle if needed; unattended vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed.
  • Be courteous – move your vehicle as soon as it is unpacked to allow others to unpack theirs.
  • Visit Parking Services to purchase a parking permit for the academic year.
  • Reminder: Do not leave items unattended in vehicles or common areas. Vehicles with valuables inside are a prime target for theft.

Pick up your ONEcard

In residence, your ONEcard is used for accessing buildings, dining halls (if you’re on a meal plan), laundry facilities and fitness facilities.

Students can pick up their ONEcard at the ONEcard office in HUB during regular office hours of 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. You will need to show your original government-issued ID (digital copies not accepted) and 7 digit university ID number to receive your ONEcard.

Students moving into Résidence Saint Jean will be provided a temporary access card for Winter Move In. This allows you the flexibility to pick up your ONEcard from North Campus on a more convenient date.
